Hey Curvies!!!
I’m so excited to kick off my Cream and Tan Style Series—a mini series where I’ll be showing you how to style both cream and tan tones in fresh, flattering ways! In this series, I’m sharing three key looks: a dreamy cream dress, a sheer spring shirt, and of course, this perfect tan dress styled with a denim jacket.
Let’s get into this tan dress moment, because… wow.
When I first put on this tan fitted dress, I knew it was a keeper. The textured fabric gives it structure and shape without sacrificing comfort. I actually wore it on a date recently and was showered with compliments—people loved the color against my skin tone. And honestly, so do I.
Let’s talk styling. The dress has thin straps, so I layered on a cropped denim jacket (similar) to give it a casual edge. The contrast stitching on the jacket pairs so well with the tan hue of the dress. To finish off the look, I added my go-to gold mules for a little shine and my denim Gucci crossbody bag for a polished finish.
How to Style a Tan Dress with Casual Layers:
- Add a Denim Jacket: A cropped denim jacket (similar) instantly makes a strappy or fitted dress feel more relaxed and daytime-ready. The structure also complements the soft texture of the dress.
- Go for Gold Accessories: Gold mules add just the right amount of glam without overdoing it. They reflect light and add interest to a neutral look.
- Keep the Bag Functional + Cute: A denim Gucci crossbody bag keeps it chic and hands-free—perfect for brunch or date night.
Style Notes: tan dress – I’m wearing a size Large. It fits beautifully, but it doesn’t have much stretch—so definitely stick to your true size. The walking clearance is snug, so I had to do a little hop when I walked (just being real with you!). Denim Jacket (similar) – I wearing a size XL, but it’s now a bit too big. A large would have been perfect. Gold Mules – I’m in a size 10, but these are a size 11 and a little big—definitely order your true size or size down if you’re in between.
